Terms of Use
The ground rules for using this site, and how buying a piece works. In short: enjoy the paintings, don't take the images, and anything you buy is arranged with me directly.

About these terms
This site is the portfolio of Anna Barnett, a painter based in the United Kingdom. By browsing it you’re agreeing to the terms set out here. They’re meant to be fair and readable rather than a wall of fine print — but if you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site.
This is a portfolio, not a shop
The site exists to show my paintings. The images, titles, dimensions and descriptions are here to give you a true sense of the work — they aren’t a formal offer to sell, and prices aren’t transacted here. Paintings are physical objects worked in layers, so colour and texture will always read a little differently on a screen than they do in the room; that variation is part of the work, not a fault.
Using the site
You’re welcome to browse the work and to share a link to any page for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. In return, please don’t:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or in any way that harms it or other visitors;
- copy, download, scrape or harvest the images or text — by hand or with automated tools — beyond ordinary personal viewing;
- use any of the work or content to train, fine-tune or develop machine-learning or AI models;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, or to disrupt or interfere with how it runs.
If you’d like to use an image for anything beyond this — press, a feature, a reproduction — just ask. I’m usually glad to say yes when I’m credited.
Enquiries & buying a piece
Every piece is placed personally rather than through a checkout. Sending an enquiry doesn’t commit either of us to anything and doesn’t form a contract on its own — it simply starts a conversation. If you go on to buy a work or commission one, the price, framing, delivery and any other details are agreed directly between us in writing, and the terms we settle there govern that sale. Nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer once we do agree a purchase.
Copyright & using the work
All the paintings, the photographs of them, and the words on this site are my own work and remain my intellectual property — © Anna Barnett. Copyright stays with me at all times. Buying a physical painting gives you that object to keep and enjoy; it doesn’t transfer the copyright or any right to reproduce, print or commercially exploit the image. For that you’d need my written permission.
Accuracy & availability
I keep the site as accurate and current as I can, but I can’t promise it’s always complete, error-free or available without interruption — a piece shown here may already have found a home, and the site may occasionally be down for maintenance. I may add, change or remove work and pages at any time, without notice.
Links to other sites
Where the site links out — to a gallery, a publication or a service I use — those destinations are run by other people and have their own terms and privacy practices. I can’t take responsibility for their content.
Liability
The site is provided for information about my work, as it is. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, I’m not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site itself.
Your privacy
When you contact me through the site, I handle your information as set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
General
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stay in force. If I don’t enforce a term straight away, that isn’t a waiver of it. I may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version here is the one that applies.
Governing law
These terms, and your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
